Member Posts: 13 | Has anyone had any experience with Tigress outriggers? I'm planing on using them on my 2660 with gunnel mounts and have heard some mixed reviews. Thanks,
Steven

![]() Posts: 2105 ![]() Location: South Florida | I have their outriggers mounted on Taco 250 holders on the tee top. The riggers have an internal track so it makes the sections easy to line up. Do you have a tee top. If so, why would you mount them on the gunnel? The idea is to be able to fight a fish without any obstructions and outriggers on the gunnel surely get in the way. Member Posts: 13 | Andy, Good question. The gunnel mount in not ideal but I am fabricating a custom folding T-top similar to the Fishmaster version but beefier. My guess is that mounting them to the top will not be an option. Thanks for your reply. Steven

![]() Posts: 2105 ![]() Location: South Florida | Steven: If I were you (and I'm not) I'd exhaust all options before settling on gunwale mounts. Even if it meant getting smaller outriggers and using Taco's smaller sport slam mounts. Good luck.

![]() Posts: 2547 ![]() Location: boca florida | andy is right , t top is the only way to go if you have a t top.......the idea of the out rigger is to spread the lines ,,,the ideal position to get full extension is horizontal,,,if you mount the riggers on the gunnel & want to get full extension ,,in any kind of wave action youll be dipping your rigger poles in the ocean possibly bending or braking,,,if you have to run the poles in a differnt angle, by the time you figure in the bow in the rigger pole etc it puts your baits right in the wash of the boat anyway...

![]() Posts: 159 ![]() | I had a walk around last year & had to use gunnel mounts. If you do mount them on the gunnels, Be sure to put a large, thick backing plate on the underside. I bought a set of 15' Tigress and the riggers were great! I did use a set of Taco Gunnel mounts though. The Taco mounts have a large 6 point nut at the base of the actual outriggerholders. And the flush mount gunnel holder has a 12 point hex at the bottom the holder fits into. This gives you more positions for your riggers than any of the other holders & did work out best. I fished a 234 w/a in 6-8 foot sea's w no problems at all with the riggers. The Taco mounts were a little larger Diameter the the Tigress bases so I just wrapped some tape around the white plastic bases. Just a little bigger than the holders. Taco & Tigress have been in patent court, I heard taco is trying to make sure their product isn't compatible with Tigress's. I bought a center console now & a new set of Tigress 1 1/2" 15' riggers with top mounts for the T top. I can't imagine having a center console w a t top n not putting them up on top.
